    • MRS. FANNIE E. SHARP

      Mrs. Fannie E. Sharp, one of the pioneer residents of Glenolden, died yesterday at the home of her nephew, Samuel A. Custer, 37 East Isabel avenue, with whom she made her home for the past several years. She had been ill for three weeks.

      Mrs. Sharp, who was 88 years old on March 29, was the widow of Thomas Sharp, a veteran of the Civil War. She was the daughter of the late Israel and Margaret Helms, who were among the earliest settlers of the upper section of Delaware county.

      Her father was born in 1818 in an old log cabin which stands at the intersection of Calcon Hook road and Tribbett avenue, Folcroft, one of the old landmarks of that section. With her husband, Mrs. Sharp helped to farm the land which is now the site of the Glenolden Community Park. She was a member of the Protestant Episcopal Church, and in her younger days worshipped at the old St. James' Church, located on Woodland avenue near Sixty-eighth street, known in the olden days as Paschall Level.

      Her survivors are three sons, George and Lewis Sharp, of Philadelphia, and Harry Sharp, of Buffalo. A brother-in-law, George Sharp, of Philadelphia; six nieces, of which Mrs. Howard B. MacCarter, of Glenolden, is one; eight nephews; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, also survive.

      She will be buried from her late home on Monday afternoon with funeral services to be conducted by Rev. J. A. Hayes, paster of the old St. John's English Lutheran Church, Sixty-first street and Columbia avenue, Philadelphia. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah cemetery.
