- Sandra M. Sack, 74, of Silver Creek, NY died Tuesday (April 5, 2011) at the Lake Shore Hospital in Irving, NY.
She was born Aug. 31, 1936 in Bradford, Pa., the daughter of the late Lebe and Linda (Monti) Monago.
Sandy graduated from St. Bernards Catholic School in Bradford, Pa., where she was valedictorian of her class. She then attended Buffalo General Nursing School and received a degree in nursing.
She worked in the health care industry as a registered nurse, most of the time at Margaret Anthony Nursing Home.
Sandy was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver Creek. She was instrumenta in the creation of the Festival of Grapes and an integral part of the development of Aunt Millies Restaurant in Irving, NY. She and her husband helped with the Silver Creek Little League. They designed and painted the signs at the field along with numerous other functions.
Sandy was very involved in her community and always looked forward to and participated in special events with her family, where she could share her creativity.
Survivors include her four sons, Domonic L. (Louanne) Sack of Stamford, Conn., Patrick F. (Wendi) Sack of Ashburn, Va., Joseph J. (Robin) of Plantsville, Conn., Matthew P. (Nancy) of Plainview, NY; nine grandchildren, Collin, Ashtin, Giovanni, Vinson, Philip, Christina, Jordan, Allie and Payton Sack; one brother, Lebe (Phyllis) Monago of Old Bridge, N.J.; and three sisters, Congetta (Gerald) LePage of Spencerport, NY, Dorothea (Richard) Helms of Sunderland, Ontario, Beverly (Terry) Kinney of San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Patrick F. Sack.
Prayers will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel in Silver Creek, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver Creek. The family will be present at the funeral chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday, April 7, 2011.
