      The sudden death of Peter Monago, a well known resident of Lewis Run and proprietor of a general store at that place, occurred at 10:45 o'clock this morning at the Bradford hospital, to which institution he had just been taken a few minutes before. The sick man had just been removed from the stretcher to the bed when he expired.

      Mr. Monago had been ill with heart trouble and a complication of ailments for a number of weeks. For six weeks past he had been receiving treatment at the Columbus hospital in Buffalo, and came home yesterday, although a very sick man, as he wished to see his family.

      Last night his condition became much worse and it was decided to remove the patient to the hospital this morning. He was taken to that institution in Koch's ambulance. Mr. Monago was hemorrhaging from the right lunch when he was taken into the hospital, and it was this hemorrhage which caused his death.

      Deceased was aged 62 years and was well known throughout this section. He was a good and public spirited citizen and was instrumental in organizing the Lewis Run band and had a great deal to do with all celebrations of a civic nature held in his home town. Deceased was a member of St. Bernard's church.

      It will be remembered by all who recall that terrible influenza epidemic that prevailed in Lewis Run many years ago that Mr. Monago gave of his strength and time in helping combat the terrible contagious disease. He was of the greatest help to all nurses and workers during the epidemic and his good works in that respect will live long in the memory of the workers.

      Deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters, two sons and one brother. The body was removed to Still's undertaking establishment.

      Funeral services in memory of Peter Monago, a well known resident of Lewis Run, were held this morning at 8 o'clock at the home and at 9 o'clock at St. Bernard's church. A solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated by Rev. David F. Hickey, Rev. Andrew Quirk and Rev. Charles Ward. James Bracaccini sang solos and the children's choir, the mass.

      Many were present at the services to pay last tribute to the memory of the deceased who was well known throughout this entire section. The Lewis Run Mutual aid society attended the services in a body. When the body was removed to St. Bernard's burial ground, the funeral procession was led by the Citizen's band which played a march. Following the band marched the members of the Aid society of Lewis Run, then three large funeral cars, filled with beautiful flowers. The hearse came next, followed by a large number of cars, bearing relatives and friends of the deceased.

      The body was placed temporarily in the Hanley mausoleum until the new part of the cemetery is completed. At the mausoleum a ritual was said by the Mutual Aid society.

      The pall bearers were Clem Carbogna, James Monticalvo, Anthony Cipriano, Joseph Luzzi, John Susio and Peter Pace.
