104 Funeral services for James W. Leone of Lewis Run, a victim of an accidental drowning last Friday in Ontario, Canada, were held Thursday morning, with a prayer service at 8:30 a.m. at the Still Funeral Home, followed by Solemn Requiem High Mass at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Lewis Run, at 9 a.m., with the Rev. J. P. Kennedy as celebrant, the Rev. John Rosenhammer as deacon and the Rev. Robert Fedor as sub-deacon. Mrs. James O'Mara was organist.

Honorary bearers were: John Polucci, Peter Paul DePalma, John Enos and Louis Gentile, all of the Pennsylvania Sales Tax Division here, and Mack Johnson of the Harrisburg office of the same agency; Anthony Calcagno, Michael Langianese Sr., Joseph Pelina, Albert Pingie Jr., Roger Vecellio and John Sankner, all of Italian Mutual Aid Society of Lewis Run.

Active bearers were: Angelo Robert and Joseph DiFonzo, Humbert Piscitelli, Michael Langianese, James Piscatelli, Richard Franco and John Romano.

Burial detail at St. Bernard Cemetery was in command of John Grassi; the color bearers were Louis Covine, Peter Perrino and George Gibson Sr.; the flag detail was in charge of Leo Healey; the firing squad composed Mike Sudock and Roy Potter, and the bugler was Arthur Hoke.

105 G. Edwin Helms, was farmer

G. Edwin "Ed" Helms Sr., 70, a farmer, died Friday evening at his home, 2910 Harmonyville Road, Elverson, after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Phyllis Taylor Helms, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 26.

Helms was a 1945 graduate of Honey Brook High School.

He was a farmer for 27 years. He also worked at Morgan Trailer Corp. in Morgantown for 27 years.

Helms was a member of Immanuel Church of Pine Swamp, Elverson, serving as Sunday school superintendent.

He was a former member of Honey Brook Grange No. 1644 and the Honey Brook Odd Fellows Lodge.

Helms was a member of the Twin Valley School Board at the time the original Twin Valley High School was built.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Rees W. and Sara Dague Helms.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons: G. Edwin Jr., husband of Phyllis Helms, Geigertown; Stephen R., husband of Ann Helms, Elverston; and Charles G., husband of Lori Helms, and James P., husband of Sharon Helms, both of Mohnton; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Jane E. Helms, Honey Brook.

106 G.D. Schick Sr., City Detective Retired in '54

George D. Schick Sr., a retired Philadelphia detective, died of heart failure Tuesday, at Cherry Hill, N. J., Hospital. He was 77 and lived at 2528 S. Shields st.

Mr. Schick had served on the city police force for 34 years before he retired in 1954. In 1939, he was one of five lawmen honored by The Inquirer for solving the "Arsenic Murder Ring Mystery."

The ring supplied arsenic to persons seeking to dispose of their spouses and friends for insurance payoffs.

Mr. Shick, who was a Navy veteran of World War I, is survived by his wife, the former Marie Farro; a son, George D. Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Manion, Mrs. Marie Kwiatkowski and Mrs. John Grazer, and give grandchildren.

A mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 A. M. Tuesday at St. Barabas Church, 63d st. and Buist ave. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.

Kathleen Wellman Coffey Morrison, 93, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, in Washington County Hospital after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Don Hodson. Burial: Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Macenski of Washington; three sons, James of Munster, Ind., Thomas of Helena, Mont., and Edmund of Green Valley, Ariz.; two brothers, James Coffey of Emmetsburg and Francis Coffey of Tucson, Ariz.; and two sisters, Diana Halda of Washington and Marcia Morgan of Vicksburg, Miss.

108 Harold Edmund Zettlemoyer, 89, of Gaffney died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in Richard M. Campbell Veteran Nursing Home in Anderson.

Mr. Zettlemoyer was the husband of Jane Holloway Zettlemoyer. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., he was a veteran and a member of VA Post 109.

He was a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church and was retired from Toro.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carol Zettlemoyer and Sandra Z. Takacs, both of Landsdowne, Pa.

Private services will be held at a later date.

109 Hartford Courant, The (CT) - 17 May 1997: SCHILLINGER. Joseph A. Schillinger, 77, of Currier Hill Road, Gilmanton, NH, died at his home on Thursday, (May 15, 1997). Mr. Schillinger was born in Hartford, on May 7, 1920, the son of John Henry and Mary Frances (Wenzel) Schillinger. Mr. Schillinger was an ace fighter pilot with the Army Air Corp. during World War II. Mr. Schillinger was a resident of Laconia, NH for 28 years before moving to Gilmanton, NH in 1986. He was a teacher for seven years, and was Principal of Pleasant Street School in Laconia, NH for 19 years, retiring in 1979. Mr. Schillinger was a former member of the Laconia School Board, Winnipissiogee Lodge No. 7 I. O. O. F., and a former member of the Board of Trustees of Mayhew. He was an avid golfer. He was a former member of the Laconia Country Club, and a former Golf Coach at Laconia High School. Survivors include his wife, Madelyn "Madge'' H. (Higgins) Schillinger of Gilmanton, NH; two sons, Joseph J. Schillinger of Laconia, NH, and Donald R. Schillinger of Morgantown, WV; a daughter, Suzanne S. Hankard of Gilford, NH; a brother, Francis S. Schillinger of Wethersfield, a sister, Margaret R. Croteau of Vero Beach, FL; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Schillinger, both of Laconia, NH; and several nephews and nieces. There will be no calling hours. Funeral service will be held on Monday, (May 19), 11 a.m. at the Laconia Congregational Church, 15 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH, with Rev. E. Barent Grevatt, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial wi ll follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH. 110 Helen L. Miller, 79, Lebanon, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in Lebanon's Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herman E. Miller. Born June 22, 1926, in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Theodore R. and Edna Collins Shott. She and her late husband had been farmers for many years. Surviving are sons John L., husband of Maryalice Miller of Winthrop, MA, and Donald E., husband of Patricia A. Miller of Lebanon; sisters Hilda, wife of Lester Nowlen, Margaret Leedy, Mary Keller, Florence Dawson and Marie Clements, all of Lebanon; brother James, husband of Susan Shott of Lebanon; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and companion of many years John Shell.
